One new trend in big experiments nowadays is to announce a webcast seminar and press conference to release new data. Although this habit is not new, interestingly enough, worldwide, physics departments schedule meetings to watch the live broadcast of the scientific discussion. At Harvard for instance yesterday the results from AMS experiment (searching for antimatter, dark matter while performing precision measurements of cosmic rays composition and flux) were broadcasted, and two weeks ago the live broadcast from the European Space Agency's Planck telescope (generating the most detailed map ever created of the cosmic microwave background) was projected.
Every year, the second year graduate students (so called G2s) organize an anonymous puppet Show. This year the characters managed save the entirely Physics Faculty from having their memory erased. You can browse the actors puppets from the program -- and even find maybe a broadcast on You Tube?
